I was reading the book The African American Experience and there was this one excerpt that really caught my attention. It really describes my thoughts on how no one is different from the other. We are all equal and should always be viewed as a human first before anything else. No Matter what the class, gender, or race is.
“I finally made up my mind that I would neither disclaim the black race nor claim the white race; but that I would change my name, raise a mustache, and let the world take me for what it would; that it was not necessary for me to go about with a label of inferiority pasted across my forehead.”
